First Mother's Day Card From Baby

Did you ever assume, expensive Mother,
As the seeds of me, you sowed,
As you breathed new life internal of me
And slowly watched me grow,
In all your goals approximately me
When you planned me out so well,
When you could not wait to have me there
Inside your coronary heart to reside,

Did you ever assume that perhaps,
I become making plans for you, too,
And selecting for my very personal
A mother much like you?
A mom who smelled candy and who
had hands so creamy white,
A soft, loving creature
Who could soothe me inside the night?

Did you ever suppose in all the one's days
While you have been coming due,
That as you planned lifestyles for me
Did I seek an existence with you?
And now as I lay to your hands,
I surprise if you knew
While you have been busy making me,
I became choosing you!

When I was a toddler, you rocked me to sleep,
And dressed me and taught me to speak,
You guided my faltering, hesitant steps
When I first started getting to know to stroll.
And then got here the day I started to high school,
When you realized how rapid I had grown,
And you informed me what wonderful a laugh it would be--
Then watched as I skipped off, by myself.
You make all the days of my adolescence so gay,
So filled with contentment and a laugh.
That the memory I actually have of my growing-up years
Is a cherished and high-quality one.
And then, when I started to be by myself,
You provided a certain, guiding hand,
Whenever I wished a listening ear,
I knew then that you'd understand--
For all your thoughtfulness, all of your love,
Your staying power and gentleness, too,
I'm thankful--for I even have an extraordinary treasure--
A candy, lovable mother like you!
